How do you connect to available resources at JCSU? What are some benefits of enrolling as a transfer student? JCSU has designed programs and opportunities for students to engage with an enriching academic experience towards pathways to career success and we are glad you’ve decided to continue your educational journey with us! If you’ve taken any college coursework, you qualify as a transfer student and are encouraged to take full advantage of all that JCSU offers.

Transfer Requirements

• All transfer students must have earned a cumulative GPA of 2.00 from the most recent institution attended. 

• JCSU accepts a maximum of 64 credit hours from a regionally accredited junior college, and 90 credit hours from regionally accredited four-year institutions.

• Report enrollment at all institutions by submitting official transcripts to Transcripts@JCSU.edu 

• No transfer credit is given for any course in which the applicant has earned a grade below C.

Scholarships

There are two scholarships available for transfer students. These scholarships are granted once our transfer counselor reviews your transcripts to be accepted to the university. There is not an application for the scholarship because it is automatically granted.

Transfer Trailblazers

JCSU Connect

Available for students that attend our partner institutions.

Tier OneÌý

  • 3.5-4.0 cumulative GPA
  • $2,000 per semester (up to 4 consecutive undergraduate semesters)

Tier TwoÌý

  • 3.0-3.499 cumulative GPA
  • $1,500 per semester (up to 4 consecutive semesters)

Renewable criterion:

  • Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA per semester
  • Attend 2 JCSU Career Services Workshops annually
  • Participate in one service learning project annually
  • Complete FAFSA annually by February 1st (if eligible)
  • Maintain continuous enrollment as a Traditional undergraduate student
  • Enroll and complete 12 credit hours each semester

Tier OneÌý

  • $4,000 per semester (up to 4 consecutive undergraduate semesters)

    Partner Discount

    JCSU undergraduate students participating in GVSU Graduate studies receive in state tuition at GVSU. GVSU will grant JCSU students $5,000.00/yearly scholarship.

    B.S. Computer Engineering / GVSU M.S.E. Engineering

    B.S. Public Health, Minor Sports Medicine / GVSU M.S. Athletic Training

    JCSU graduates receive a 10 percent discount towardÌýgraduate schoolÌýtuition, waived application fees, and waived standardized testing requirements unless required by state licensing agencies.
