Dr. Robert Lindsey has been in higher education since 2000. As for his background, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics/Statistics from Washington University in St. Louis in 1992, a Master鈥檚 Degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1996, and a Ph.D in Health Behavior from the University of Florida in 2000. While attending Washington University in St. Louis, he was a four-time Division III All-American in the 800m and 1500m in track and field.
From August 2000 to 2006, he began his career as an Assistant Professor of Health Education at the College of Charleston, where he taught classes such as Personal and Community Health, Test and Measurements, and Chronic and Communicable Diseases. He became a member of SCAAHE (South Carolina Association for the Advancement of Health Education), and he was a member from 2000 to 2006.
In August 2006, he began his teaching career at 星空无限传媒. He has taught a number of courses in the public health field, including personal health, drugs and drug education, epidemiology, program planning and evaluation, global health, junior seminar in health research, senior seminar in health research, and health administration. He has also taught classes in the sport management field, including sports psychology and sports management research methods.
Dr. Lindsey became an Associate Professor in 2009 and obtained Full Professor status in 2019. In 2015, Dr. Lindsey became the Department Chairperson for the Department of Health and Human Performance, where he served from 2015 to 2018. Furthermore, he has had the position of Health Fair Chairman in which he has hosted a Health Fair every year at 星空无限传媒 from 2007 to 2025 with the exception of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Lindsey has over 25 publications in various journals such as South Carolina Journal of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, Eta Sigma Gamma, Journal of Drug Education, NIRSA Journal, Psychology and Education, College Student Journal, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport. His research focuses on a variety of areas, including tobacco prevention, alcohol use, campus recreation, and athletic burnout. He has also focused on student research, and since August 2007, he has guided over 400 Senior Papers in the Department of Health and Human Performance, ranging within the areas of Public Health, Sport Management, and Teacher Education.
Dr. Lindsey is also an active member of Phi Beta Sigma, Fraternity, Inc., in which he has been a member since March 1992.
Dr Lindsey has been recognized for his work by JCSU and other organizations for his work with students and in the community with the following awards:
