Growing Tensions in Israel-Palestine Spark Conversations During Charlotte Black Jewish Alliance鈥檚 Deep South Pilgrimage
For the past three years, two JCSU professors have embarked on a Spring Break trip to Jewish Temples and historic sites of the Civil Rights Movement with a group of diverse Charlotteans. The event is called the Deep South Pilgrimage and is a trip planned by the Charlotte Black Jewish Alliance (CBJA).听
This year, the ongoing conflict in Israel-Palestine sparked conversations during the trip that the professors say will offer a unique opportunity to bridge gaps through open and honest communication.

Portrait of a Queen: Charlotte Symphony Orchestra + JCSU Concert Choir
Inauguration Week kicked off with a joint concert titled 鈥淧ortrait of a Queen,鈥 featuring the JCSU Concert Choir, JCSU Drumline and the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. This year was the second consecutive year of this partnership. More than 400 tickets were issued for this event, held inside the Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium, April 2, 2024.

鈥婦anaria Gorham 鈥24 originally wanted to pursue a career in social work, but when she took a reporting course at 星空无限传媒, she fell in love with journalism. Now, the soon-to-be graduate and Woodbridge, Va. native has earned the opportunity to further her love for storytelling through an internship with National Geographic this summer.
