Kaleyah Braxton 鈥21 spent Fall 2018 sharpening her photography skills as an intern in the Department of University Communications and Marketing, capturing images at sports, academic and social events. She took her craft to another level with a two-day wildlife and bird photography course limited to a dozen professional nature photographers at the Carolina Raptor Center.听

Vespers a reunion of sound
星空无限传媒鈥檚 annual Christmas Vespers service was a grand success Dec. 2, 2018. This year鈥檚 Vespers were even more anticipated than usual, as the program featured the combined voices of the JCSU Concert Choir and the newly organized JCSU Alumni Choir, as well as more community partnership.

The holiday spirit was alive at JCSU during Residence Life and the Student Government Association鈥檚 鈥淎n Evening with Santa.鈥

JCSU salutes veterans, hosts Coast Guard Appreciation Day
星空无限传媒 students听celebrated Veteran鈥檚 Day by recognizing veterans and active duty military members with notes of appreciation. The university also hosted officers of the Coast Guard who introduced students to additional resources that can enhance their college experience.

On Nov. 11, 2018 students gave of their time and energy for Veterans Day with the Message in a Bottle campaign. More than 50 students showed up at the New Science Center to write messages of encouragement and support to local active-duty veterans. Landry Frison 鈥19, an active duty South Carolina National Guard, and Sameerah Williams 鈥19, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps,听also sat on a panel with members of the Coast Guard who came to speak to students about scholarship monies and opportunities for officer training school.
