McNair students present research in New Mexico
Three McNair students took the stage at the University of New Mexico鈥檚 (UNM) McNair Research Conference in Albuquerque. Dr. Jonathan Smalls, Director of McNair Scholarship Program, selected Aria Springfield, Emoni Lewis, and Kneadee Jackson to represent 星空无限传媒.
JCSU student lands job months before graduation
The school year has just begun, but Ramoya Grandison has already secured the bag. Deloitte & Touche hired the senior, who double majors in computer science information systems and business administration, five months before graduation. Grandison will remain in the Queen City after graduation in December before starting her new role as Risk and Financial Advisory Group Consultant in March.
Student launches organization, brings awareness to mental health
More than a dozen students recently attended JCSU senior Ramel Brown鈥檚 mental health discussion, Mel鈥檚 Mind, in the Rotunda September 20, 2019. The psychology major is working to break the stigma around mental health.听

Convocation 2019
The graduating class of 2023 are official Smithites! Thursday, August 29听incoming 2019 freshman, dressed in black and white outfits, filled Biddle Hall Auditorium for their first Convocation, which also included a Pinning Ceremony.听
Miss North Carolina visits 星空无限传媒
Miss North Carolina, Alexandra Badgett, met with students at 星空无限传媒 during a College Tour in conjunction with Miss Taste of Charlotte. Badgett, a Charlotte native, is hoping to recruit more African American women for pageants.
Student projects examine housing, healthcare and food in Charlotte鈥檚 Historic West End
This summer 11 students presented their research in the New Science Center auditorium on the campus of Johnson C Smith University. It was all a part of an eight-week Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) created and funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). As a collaboration among Davidson College, JCSU, and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, this project places students in research settings alongside faculty members and key community players to define and creatively address social problems in the neighborhoods that surround Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte.

For three weeks, 14 students are participating in the National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) on the campus of 星空无限传媒. JCSU is one of five Historically Black Colleges and Universities partnering with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to change the future of transportation.
Tennis Programs Named ITA All-Academic Team, Six Players Honored as All-Academic Scholar-Athletes
The 星空无限传媒 women's tennis team was named to the 2019 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team and six Golden Bulls earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors, the ITA announced Thursday.听This year the Intercollegiate Tennis Association saw an increase in qualifying teams and scholar-athletes.听All-Academic honors were awarded to 940 teams and thousands of scholar-athletes.听
McNair Scholars complete summer fellowship program
Students enrolled in the McNair Scholars Summer Program presented research to faculty, mentors and staff during a symposium. The six-week summer program couples students with a faculty mentor as they engage in research based on their academic discipline.听
Black Ink Monks return to Hebrew Academy; influence students through Spoken Word
The Black Ink Monks, 星空无限传媒鈥檚 oldest non-greek organization, returned to the American Hebrew Academy (AHA) in Greensboro, N.C. in January of 2019. Their annual trip educates AHA students about spoken word 鈥 using oratory skills for self-expression, anger management, and education.
